Private patients

Parents with private health insurance can choose for their child to be treated as either a public or private patient.

All PCH patients will receive the highest level of care and access to services, regardless of whether they are public or private.

As a private patient, you will receive a toiletry bag and vouchers to use in hospital during your stay.

A private patient with appropriate hospital cover has no out-of-pocket expenses for their hospital stay, e.g. hospital accommodation, prosthetics, pathology, radiology, ICU, theatre fees and pharmaceuticals.

Private health insurance greatly assists PCH in purchasing and maintaining hospital equipment and facilities which help enhance the patient experience.
