At the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS), we are committed to the pursuit of healthier lives for children and young people.

To ensure we provide the best quality care, patient and family surveys have been introduced at Princess Margaret Hospital and Bentley Adolescent Unit to gain a better understanding of what we do well and how we can improve.

A healthcare consulting company called Press Ganey manages the collection and analysis of surveys. You may receive a survey in your letterbox when you return home. The survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete and all responses are confidential and are stored securely. Not all families receive a survey so your participation is extremely important to us.

If you do not want your child’s details sent to Press Ganey, please ask your nurse for an opt-out form before going home.

The results from our first ‘Voice of Family’ survey (quarter one and two) are now available. Our families have told us:

What’s next

We will be holding a solutions week where staff and consumers will be invited to help develop improvement strategies. Our aim is to, together with families, find ways to improve the experience of our patients and families every single day.

As the surveys are ongoing, you can provide feedback on changes as we make them, and tell us if the changes we make are positive and where we still need to improve. If you would like to be involved in helping us to use feedback from these surveys, please email PMH.VoiceofFamily@health.wa.gov.au
