The Kalparrin Centre operated by Parents of Children with Disabilities (Inc) provides practical and emotional support to families of children with special needs. Situated at level 4, Hay Street Building, Princess Margaret Hospital, it is a place where families can get information and support related to their child's condition. The service is open to any family member of a child with a special need regardless of degree of severity or type of impairment.
Staff and volunteers of the Centre understand the issues involved in caring for children with special needs and are always available to offer support and provide information.
Kalparrin is a South Australian aboriginal word which means "help carry the load".
