KKIND is a new service at PMH which aims to minimise trauma, anxiety and distress caused by illness, injury and being in hospital.

With KKIND, all health professionals working at PMH will help minimise the distress or trauma that can occur for patients and families in hospital.

There are three levels to the KKIND service. We will assess your child’s needs and then provide a tailored service just for them. Most children will receive universal KKIND care to help them cope with normal stress and anxiety while they are in hospital or having medical procedures. Some children might need extra care if their distress levels are very high or they have other complications.

Families will also play a big part in ensuring that their children’s individual needs are being met and you will be provided with resources and clinical support during your stay.
